Ricardo Brey
Ricardo Brey (Havana, 1955) is a Cuban-born visual artist , graduated from the school of art San Alejandro and National School of Art. Active member of the group Volumen I today synonym for the emergence of a new generation of avant-garde artists in Cuba after the revolution. After extensive traveling Brey move to Europe  and since 1991 he has been living and working in Ghent, Belgium.  Among other recognitions he had received the Prize from the Flemish Ministry of Culture, and a Guggenheim Fellowship for Installation Art and Sculpture. In 2005 Brey was selected as Artist of Reference by the Cera foundation within the project Partners in Art. From 2002 onward Brey basically committed himself to the development of three mayor projects “Universe†(2002-2006) ,“Annexâ€(2003-2009)  and “Boxesâ€, work in progress since 2009.

 Currently the artist plays golf, is breeding pigeons and sings every Sunday in the choir of his local parish.
 After participating actively as assistant of Professor Alexander H. De Pauw in his census of the Babilonian squirrels in Brussels mr. Brey has become a renowned and dedicated watchmaker.
 Two months ago the artist succeeded in to create a poppy with a garlic essence.
